Tournament Rules

9u AA/AAA Wood Bat Tournament
WHEN: May 28th to May 31st
WHERE: Adams Park in Kennesaw, GA
TEAMS: Maximum of 9 teams - 3 game guarantee
Teams will need to bring their own wooden bats and two game balls per game

  • Game Length
    • Maximum of 6 innings or time limit for pool play and bracket play, whichever occurs first.
    • Pool Play: Drop dead at 90 minutes. Score will revert to the last full inning.
    • Bracket Play: No new inning after 80 minutes. Unless there is a tie at the end of an inning. 
  • Rules: We will be playing by USSSA rules.
  • Substitute runners for your pitcher and catcher of record shall be allowed.
  • Baseballs: Each team will be required to provide 2 game balls for each game. Please provide them to the umpire at the home plate meeting.
  • Home Team: The schedule outlines the Home and Visitor for each pool play game. Every team shall be the home team once during pool play. During bracket play, the higher seed will be the home team.
  • Seeding shall be determined based on this order
    • Win-Loss Record
    • Head to Head 
    • Runs Allowed
    • Runs Scored
    • Coin Toss
  • Mercy Rule
    • 15 runs after 3 innings
    • 12 runs after 4 innings
    • 8 runs after 5 innings
  • Appeals: No appeals shall be permitted in the tournament. The umpires will do their best but inevitably will get it wrong once in awhile as we all know. That being said, the call on the field will stand. Feel free to appeal to the other umpire on the field - but there will not be any outside appeals.
  • Refunds: 
    • In the event only 1 game is played by a team, that team will receive a 50% refund of their entry fee.
    • Once a team has played 2 games, no refund shall be provided.
  • Warmups:  if you have a 9:00 game, warmups cannot begin before 8:00. This is a City noise ordinance requirement. We will have cages available as well as a practice field for warmups, please be considerate of sharing practice field with others.
  • Cooler: Only one team cooler shall be allowed. We are not charging for parking and appreciate the support of our concession stand which will be open all day.
  • Homerun Derby: we will be hosting a Homerun Derby on the tball field - all age children are welcome!
